Congratulations to Jade Briggs, who will be the first Fellow in our Leadership Diversity Program!
What is the Leadership Diversity Program?
Here’s a quick rundown –
The perception and reality of the craft beer industry is that it’s dominated by white men. As an industry we lose out on valuable insights from a more diverse group of people, and the perception of whiteness limits how seriously other people look at craft beer as a viable career.
Establish a paid training program that encompasses all aspects of the brewery business to help people develop the skills to be effective leaders in a craft brewery.
The Orpheus Brewing Leadership Diversity Program provides a unique opportunity for Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Latino or Hispanic, Native Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander to develop the skills necessary for a leadership career in the craft brewing industry. This six month training program includes a $1500/mo stipend and health insurance.

Our First Fellow
We started from an incredible slate of candidates, and in the end we thought it was clear that Jade should be the one.
She brings skills, knowledge, and passion that are essential both for preparing to lead a brewery and to be a prominent face of change in the industry. We want to grow this program, and bringing Jade on first will ensure that we get off to a strong start.
We’d like to extend a huge thank you to Ale Sharpton for sitting in on interviews and helping us with our selection.
