Shakespeare on Draught presents: Othello
September 16, 2019 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
GIRD YOUR LOINS, #groundlings! Shakespeare on Draught is back on Monday, September 16 with one of Shakespeare’s most devastating tragedies: OTHELLO!
Things are looking up for Othello, the Moor of Venice: he’s a captain, he’s just married the beautiful Desdemona, and he’s now in Cyprus having won an important military victory. But his good fortune is cut short by the machinations of Iago, his overlooked officer. Fueled by a bottomless hatred, Iago leads Othello into a jealous madness that ensnares and ruins everyone around him. Considered one of Shakespeare’s darkest and most excellent tragedies, we’d like to also point out that it hinges, for the most part, on a handkerchief.
